The Secret Life of a Clothing Shopaholic

Yes, I am a recovering clothing shopaholic. Perhaps you think clothing shopaholics are just women who can’t control their urge to spend money on clothes. But that really isn’t what the addiction is all about. There is a big misconception about clothes shopping addiction. So I am going to let you in on the truth about it and tell you all about the secret fantasy life of the women who have it. You see, all female clothing shopaholics have one thing in common:

When we get a compliment or an admiring stare on the way we look, we feel great. And here is another truth about our addiction: we all have a “female appraiser”. A “female appraiser” is the female in our life that we always imagine envying us and complimenting us when we try on new clothes. She is the one we always wear new outfits in front of to get appraisal and compliments about how we look. She is the one who notices every new pair of shoes, every new piece of jewelry, whether our hair looks particularly healthy and attractive that day, and every new item of clothing we are wearing to the minutest degree. She dissects us physically; she is our lifeblood to feeling we exist; by noticing us, envying us and complimenting us; she makes us feel alive.

And we are her female appraiser as well. We notice every new item she wears and we comment about how good she looks as well. We often envy her appearance and new outfits. Our relationship is the mutual symbiotic feeding of our ego envy. Usually our female appraiser is our female mother, sister, friend or coworker who we subconsciously compete and look to get approval from about our appearance. We always try to upstage her in appearance and make her feel envious of us; we always think about whether what we buy will make her envy how we look before we buy it and when she sees a new outfit on us and we feel her envy (of course the ultimate high is when she asks us where we bought it) we have our ultimate addictive fix. We even watch how many people notice us more than her when the two of us walk together in public, to know that we are getting more attention than she is. Yes, it’s an “envy/dislike/need of approval dynamic” we have with our female appraiser (or multiple female appraisers) on a complicated physical and emotional level.

When I was a clothing shopaholic, I lived for clothes, they were my life passion. I still love clothes. But I am less in need of the power they give me to be noticed, admired, and envied. The need to shop for clothes and imagine wearing them and getting compliments from women when I wear them has taken less of a hold on me. But there was a time when shopping for clothes was an essential part of my daily life because I lived for the attention and praise those new outfits gave me.  I would  fantasize as I tried them on in the store and imagine being envied by my female appraiser when I wore them. And once I bought them, wearing them always made me feel special and alive when I got that attention, envy and praise from my “female appraiser”. I always needed to wear something new to be noticed and that is why the money was spent; to continually have new clothes to wear so I would continually get compliments and be noticed. When I wore that outfit a second time, it wasn’t new anymore and no compliments were given because they’d already been given when I wore it the first time. So that outfit did not serve its purpose any more for my addiction unless I wore it in front of a different female appraiser who never saw it before (sometimes I had 3 or more female appraisers in my life). On the days I wore an outfit that I received no attention about, I actually felt invisible and depressed. Sometimes just thinking about another new outfit I would wear the next day and how good I’d look and how envied I’d be was all I thought about on those depressing days. It was the only thing that kept me going; imaging that outfit in my closet and the power it would give me to be noticed and complimented.. I’d fantasize about the shoes I’d wear with the outfit and how I’d match my eye shadow to it and the admiration I’d be getting. Because I always knew exactly what to buy and wear that would make my female appraiser envious and wish she had my clothes and got the attention I was geting. And what a euphoric high that would give me; even thinking about that happening.

Free Sports Bet

Before we can get into a deeper discussion on how you can get a free sports bet online, it may be a good idea to familiarize ourselves with the idea of a what a ‘sports bet’ is, in the first place. This would be for the benefit of those who may be coming across as term for the very first time.

And as it turns out, a sports bet is simply a bet that is placed for or against a certain sporting event coming to pass. If, for instance, two boxers are soon going to UFABET fight, you may decide to place a bet against boxer A winning the fight, while your friend places a bet for boxer A winning the fight. The arrangement, in the simplest terms, is that if boxer A loses the fight, you give your friend some some money, say $100 – and conversely, if boxer A wins the fight, your friend gives you some money, most likely a similar $100.

Virtually all sorts of sporting events can be betted on. There are people placing bets against football, horse racing, boxing and even tennis and golf outcomes. Naturally, some sports are more preferred over others, as being suitable to place bets upon. The likes of horse racing, boxing and soccer, are very popular with sports betting enthusiasts.

So with this background information, we can get back into our discussion on how to get a free sports bet.

Of course, the idea of getting a free sports-bet sounds rather counter-intuitive, because betting is supposed to be about money; so that when someone talks about free sports betting, you are likely to find yourself wondering what they are actually talking about.

In order to be in a position to understand how a free sports-bet comes about, you need some insight into the workings of online sports betting.

Online sports betting works in pretty much the same way as traditional sports-betting; save for the fact that the betting takes place of the Internet. What the people looking to partake in this online sports betting need to do is register with the sites where the betting takes place, create accounts there, deposit the money they would be using to make the bets there, and then proceed to make the bets using that money. In some of these sites, a majority actually, the betting amounts are standardized; so that for $5, you can ‘buy’ a bet, with which you can then decide what to bet on. The bet now becomes a commodity, with a standardized price to it.

So when someone tells you that they can give you a free sports bet, what they mean is that they will load your online betting account with money that can buy one such standardized bet.

We talk about it being a ‘valid’ free sports bet when it is bet with which you can actually win real money, rather than a ‘demo’ bet.

And the way to get one such free sports bet would be by searching over the Internet for any sports betting website that may be offering free sports bets (maybe as a strategy to attract new members or as a strategy to retain loyal members), and then proceed to register in older to attain the free bet. Most of these websites will have a ‘free sport bet code,’ which you enter when registering (for those aiming at attracting new members) or when loading money into your betting account (for those aimed at retaining loyal members). Upon entering the code, you find your betting account loaded, or added, extra money that would be enough for you to buy a sports bet. That way, you will have found a free sports bet.

Prime Subject – The Basics of Painting With Primer

Do you know the difference between primer and paint? Is it possible to paint without primer? What kind of primer should you use on which kinds of surfaces?

To prime or not to prime is a subject that confuses most novice arts and crafts enthusiasts. Many often make the mistake of skipping the priming step, moving ahead to painting on a bare surface. Unfortunately, that can lead to a lot of grief as the project nears completion. It can even present problems during the life of the painted subject.

Don’t make the mistake of skipping the priming step. Primer is an indispensable asset when painting wood, metal and especially plastic objects. It’s chemically designed to act as a “beachhead” on the surface of the object to be painted, helping the paint to adhere while also keeping it smooth and durable. Priming even protects the painting subject from many kinds of damaging decay.

So what is primer, exactly?

Primer is a kind of paint that’s chemically mixed to bind to its subject material. It’s designed as an undercoat, meaning it’s not required to offer durability or shine like normal paints. It’s sold in both liquid and spray-can forms.

Because it’s an undercoat, primer is engineered to aggressively stick to its subject material, forming an intermediary between its surface and the layers of paint to be used atop it. In some cases, such as with many kinds of plastics, primer will also help slow the growth of mildew as years go by. Priming also helps prevent moisture damage and mildew on wood, gypsum board, and other porous surfaces.

Priming wood

Priming wood is mandatory. Bare wood will soak up solvents from paint directly applied to it, shortening the life expectancy of the paint. Bare wood surfaces will also cause the pigment of the paint – and by extension the shade or hue visible to the eye – to alter in response to its own coloring. Finally, priming will also eliminate dry rot and warping of the wood itself.

Priming plastic

Plastics should be primed in order to “reset” a subject object’s color. As with wood, this means the primer will prevent the color of the underlying object from “seeping” through or altering the paint applied atop it. Priming also reduces the number of coats needed to obscure the original color.

Priming plastics works best when the object is small enough to be primed with spray paint.

Priming metal

Only some metals, such as aluminum, need priming as a means of preventing rust. Priming in many cases will also prevent flaking of the paint from the metal later on.

Experts recommend priming metal especially when working with aircraft or parts that will be exposed to atmospheric conditions.

Primer colors

Spray primer is typically sold in white and gray colorings. Gray primer will give the colors applied atop it a slightly darker hue than white primer.

Famous Paintings – The Arts, the Painters, and the Controversies

In 2005, the Today Program of Radio 4 and National Gallery summer scheme were in the search of Britain’s greatest painting. Controversy loomed around this scheme, which was seen as a great way of celebrating art. At first, it was the competition for the famous painting and later it turned out to be for Britain’s greatest painting. Artist Jack Vettriano, whose paintings adorned numerous greeting cards, was not in the top 10 list. An arts work by Rembrandt, voted for the most popular painting, was unable to find a spot in the top 10. A panel of three, including a critic, an artist, and a BBC Governor, decided the fate of these paintings in the list. The famous painters, Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, and Lucian Freud were not given their due artwork credit. No painter from the 21st century was included in the list. The work of David Hockney’s Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy (1970-71) was the only painting of the 20th century to be enlisted. The oldest painting in the list was Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck, which dates back to 1434. Half of the paintings were of the 19th century.

The painter of “The Marx Brothers” (1980), Andy Warhol, was amidst arts controversy quite recently. Warhol became rich and famous when his painting, “Ten Portraits” was exhibited in the Jewish Museum. Warhol accumulated a lot of money through painting portraits. He would produce portraits for people who offered him more than $37,000 for a print. The crème of the celebrity society of approximately 1,600 people were willing to pay him for a portrait. In 1979, when his artworks were exhibited in the Whitney Museum of American Art, the judges accused him of exploiting the Jewish community for money.

Artist Andy Warhol’s ‘The Marx Brothers’ (1980) made a re-entry in the Jewish Museum on March 16 as ‘Warhol’s Jews: Ten Portraits Reconsidered’. Other portraits that appeared in the exhibition were the works of artists Albert Einstein, Franz Kafka, George Gershwin, Gertrude Stein, Golda Meir, Louis Brandeis, Martin Buber, the Marx Brothers, Sarah Bernhardt, and Sigmund Freud.

Another latest controversy troubling the arts is the work of Adam Cullen in Australia’s top prize for religious art. The controversial painting has the line “only women bleed,” engraved on the Cross with Christ. The line is inspired from an Alice Cooper song. One of the Blake Prize judges had quit the panel, strongly condemning this painting. Painters are relying on religious images to obtain a top position in the list. Another controversial religious image was that of Melbourne party boy, Corey Worthington as Jesus. The last thing the prize organizers wanted was any controversy after the last year’s provoking works of the statue of Virgin Mary in a burqa and a hologram of Christ resembling Osama bin Laden. The Prime Minister John Howard and the Archbishop of Sidney were aghast over the artworks.

Sometimes I wonder if artists create paintings out of an inherent need to express themselves or do they create paintings to shock and stir up controversy. Perhaps it is a little of both; the artist’s form of expression is controversial.

My name is Annette Labedzki. I am a Canadian abstract painter. I have been a full time artist for 25 years.

Setting Up Remote Access to Your Computer – Fast, Easy and Secure

There are numerous ways how you can access another computer remotely; each one has its own cons and pros.
Just to name a few, we have:

VNC (Virtual Network Computing) server / clients
RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) server / clients
Citrix Online (GoToMyPC)

It can also be a combination of those with an addition of a VPN tunnel which has its own advantage such as sharing files and services directly from one office to another as if you’re on the same LAN.

When you’re planning to access another computer remotely there are many things that you have to take into consideration:

1. You may face the problem of having to open up ports on your firewall
2. Setting up security so that the ports that you’ve opened and the remote server that you’ll be running is not exposed to any potential exploits.
3. It could be extremely inconvenient after you’ve setup your home router to find out that you’re on dynamic IP and you can’t access your connection.

After trying different solutions, the best one that I’ve found so far and the easiest to setup that I would strongly recommend would be via

They let you create a free account, and you can use that software behind any type of firewall, even on a dynamic IP. They way it works is:

1. You login to your management interface via their website on a computer that you’re planning to access remotely.
2. They’ll send you a small ActiveX control over the web when you click on “Add this Computer” button.
3. Once the software is in place you can try logging in from any other workstation back to the one you’ve setup to access.
4. You can copy / paste text between 2 computers, but not drag / drop files.
5. As an added bonus it also works well from any windows mobile phone.
a. They distribute a CAB file.
6. It even works with non windows mobile based phones or any web browsers that do not support ActiveX by sending you snapshots of your screen. It’s not the best method and kind of slow, but in an emergency situation it works.

What Is a RDP and How It Is Useful for Users?

RDP stands for remote desktop protocol. It is a technology developed by Microsoft which enables users to connect two computers remotely. In simple words it lets two computers at two different locations to connect with each other over the network through internet.

Let’s take a simple example, suppose you stay in india and your friend stays in UK and for some reason you want to use his computer but you don’t know how to do it, here is when RDP comes into play, you can access the computer of your friend sitting anywhere in the world by using RDP. It allows printer sharing, sound sharing and a host of other features.

Another important use of RDP is that you can use it for any problem solving activity by sharing your computer with the technicians etc, In this aspect it works in the same way as team viewer. Another use is that lets suppose your PC is not in a good condition and you are not happy with the configuration and you have a friend you lives in Germany and has access to a good configured PC, so by using RDP you can access your friends PC by sitting in India. Isn’t it amazing?

buy rdp

For using RDP all you need is an IP, password and a computer name which will be provided to you by any RDP service seller. There are many RDP providers in the world and you can choose them as per your needs and the configurations they provide. The RDP provider will you the details by which you can use RDP on your computer.

Now apart from people looking for high speed internet, hackers also use RDP to stay anonymous and use faster internet. The role of RDP provider is very important here because it’s the provider who will make sure that the users doesn’t misuse the service for unethical activities like child pornography, hacking, gambling etc.

In this age where most of the internet activities are performed on phone, RDP is not different, you can access RDP on your phone by installing a bunch of apps for android and iPhone users and you don’t need to fear for your security as well when you use RDP because it is encrypted by 128 bit by Microsoft which makes it super secure for use.

Surviving a Car Ride With a Young Child in the Car Seat

Driving around with a toddler or infant in the car seat can be a real nightmare for some parents. If your child is one who become as stiff as a board the moment you attempt to strap him or her into a car seat and cry non-stop to the point of throwing up, then you might find some of the following tried and test tips for surviving a car ride useful.

1. Timing

For some toddlers, there is an optimum time after a nap where their disposition and mood is most accommodating. It might be a window of two hours after waking up in the morning when your child will be most willing to tolerate a car ride in the car seat. Determine what this window is for your child by making note of all the times when your child has been most accommodating in the car seat.

2. Be Ready

Make sure you have everything you need for your outing packed and loaded into the car before strapping your child into the car seat. The last thing you wan to do is leave your toddler waiting in the car while you run back to the house for an extra diaper or snacks.

If your child is a breastfed toddler, make sure you nurse your child sufficiently before getting into the car. Sometimes a little nursing time is just the thing that your toddler needs to survive the journey.

3. Getting into the Car Seat

For toddlers who immediately adopt the “plank position” when they spy the car seat you need to keep them distracted with an activity while you carry them out to the car. It might be a favourite toy, book or a really special treat reserved only for very special occasions – you know your toddler best.

4. Distractions in the Car

After getting a toddler securely into the car seat, surviving the journey is the next task. The best thing you can do to prevent the crying is distract, distract, distract. As each toddler is a unique individual, each child will respond differently to different distraction objects. Additionally, different ages and stages of development will require different distraction tools. Here are some possible distractions you can use depending on your child’s interest and stage of development:

  • Keep a bag of interesting objects for a young toddler to examine. For instance, toy keys, catalogues with lots of pictures, board books, cloth books, etc.
  • Generally objects that your toddler can manipulate will occupy his or her attention for longer. For instance, toys with lots of buttons, lights and sounds will be more interesting and engaging than a cuddly soft toy. A popular toy is one of those car seat steering wheels that attach to the car seat. The problem with loose toys is that they can be dropped, after which your child will have nothing else to do. A home-made alternative is to offer your toddler an old wallet with lots of old cards that you no longer need inside it. Your toddler will enjoy pulling cards out one by one. Another alternative is keeping a CD case with old CDs that your toddler can pull out one by one. Encouraging your toddler to practice tearing up scrap paper is also a good activity, albeit a little messy to clean up after.
  • Listening to your toddler’s favourite music, playing a favourite audio book on CD, singing favourite songs, or telling stories can be an effective distraction for an older toddler. Talk to your toddler about the interesting scenery outside the car or about anything in particular that interests your toddler.
  • Small doodle pads that can be easily erased and drawn over again are also great for toddlers who love to scribble.
  • Keeping a stash of favourite books that your toddler can flip through. Talking books or those books with buttons, lights and sounds are also great.
  • Favourite snacks or special treats for toddlers who can self-feed are an excellent distraction.

Preparing For Your Dog’s First Car Ride

Traveling with your dog can be a great adventure. Before you start your travel, there are some things you want to keep in mind when traveling in the car with your pet.

Always remember safety first. Purchasing a dog safety seat will be safer for your dog in case you come to a sudden stop or make a quick turn. Make sure your pet cannot roam around the vehicle freely. There are also pet safety belts that can be purchased. This can ensure that the pet cannot be thrown from the vehicle or into another passenger in case of an accident, sudden stop, or turn. Another option is purchasing a crate. If you ever considered traveling with your pet by plane, then having your pet in a crate is required by the airline. It can also keep your pet out of trouble at a hotel or somebody else’s house. You want to make sure the crate is big enough to allow the dog to stand, turn, and lie down. It should be sturdy with handles and grips. It should also have a leak proof bottom covered with absorbent material. Air should be able to flow through it freely.

In case your dog gets away from you during a trip, it is best to make sure he has identification to increase the chances of a recovery. Make sure your pet is wearing a collar at all times, which have identification tags with the dog’s name, your name, a number where you can be reached, and proof of rabies shots. You can consider a more permanent form of identification, such as a microchip. It is also a good idea to have a recent picture of your dog with you.

The Car Ride

Allow your dog to get used to sitting in the car first without leaving the driveway and then start off by going for short rides, so you and your dog can get familiar with traveling by car together. Don’t feed your dog before traveling. This way you can avoid car sickness. Make the first few trips somewhere fun for your dog, like a park or field. This way he will associate riding in the car as something fun and enjoyable as opposed to just trips to the vet. Make sure to have plenty of water at all times especially during the warmer times. Keep the car well ventilated. However, do not let your dog ride with his head sticking out of an open window. This can lead to the potential of an eye injury. Never leave your dog unattended in a closed vehicle, especially during warmer or colder temperatures. If you do have to leave your dog, make sure someone else is in the car with him. When going on long car trips make sure to bring some of your dog’s favorite chew toys and treats, so he will not get bored. Stop often for exercise and potty breaks and be sure to have something to clean up after your dog.
